CDVIP is a non-profit agency that is funded primarily by a Violence Against Women Act grant and local donations. We have been a part of Lincoln County for over twenty years and continue to work with the perpetrators of domestic violence! CDVIP staff works collaboratively with victim agencies, law enforcement, the Lincoln County Attorney's office, DHHS, economic services and more to promote offender accountability and victim safety. We believe offender accountability is one key to stopping the violence now and preventing future generations of offenders.

The Community Domestic Violence Intervention Program is the coordinating agency of the Lincoln County Coordinated Response Team (CRT), a multi-agency task force that works collaboratively to stop domestic violence in Lincoln County. The CRT meets at least once a quarter to address agency responses to domestic violence in our community and ensure we maintain policies to promote victim safety and offender accountability. In addition, we operate a Batterer Intervention Program for men and the Women's Education Intervention Program for women. These classes are designed to promote offender accountability and identify the power and control dynamics of relationships affected by domestic violence. We teach that abuse is a choice. It is not the result of drugs, alcohol, anger issues or mental illness. We consistently have approximately 35 individuals enrolled in classes. These individuals are referred by District 11 Probation, Parole and the Lincoln County Attorney's Office. Men and women can also attend classes on a volunteer basis. CDVIP uses the Duluth Model curriculum. Our agency also offers educational opportunities to community agencies and individuals, including employer education. Employer education training assists employers in seeing signs of domestic violence from both the victim and perpetrator perspectives and offers helpful tools and resources to address the issue in the workplace.

Our mission statement..."The mission of the Community Domestic Violence Intervention Program in Lincoln County, Nebraska is to eliminate domestic violence by providing intervention programs for perpetrators, promoting safety for adult and child victims of domestic violence, and providing education that affects social change leading to cultural values that prohibit rather than support abuse within intimate relationships."
